Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been serving the community since its official opening on 31 July 2010. Our Centre specializes in early intervention programs for children aged two to six years, diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. We receive cases through referrals from hospitals via SG Enable, and enrollment follows a thorough initial screening process.
Our mission is to maximize the developmental potential of these children through a comprehensive approach. Children attend 3-hour session programs twice a week, guided by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Together, we create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) focusing on six key domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.
Position: Speech-Language Therapist
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group therapy sessions tailored to each student's level of functioning.
- Evaluate and document students' speech and language therapy needs and progress at regular intervals.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of training programs.
- Offer consultation, support, and updates on students' progress to the rehabilitation team and caregivers.
- Engage in discussions with caregivers regarding student-related issues.
- Assess the effectiveness and relevance of therapy programs.
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy programs based on each student's unique needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a preschool setting is advantageous.
- Diploma/Degree in Speech-Language Therapy or equivalent.
- Registered with Singapore’s Allied Health Professions Council.
- Interest in working with children with special needs.
