We are looking for a driven, passionate, and resourceful senior market analyst/senior reporter to join our team and cover the global oleochemicals - Glycerine, Palm, and Lauric markets.
The successful candidate will join our global network of over 600 dedicated market analysts. They connect deeply with the markets they cover, delivering expert market analysis and information not available elsewhere. We pride ourselves on analysing how and why news matters to our high-level audience, which comprises Fortune 500 companies, national oil and energy companies, multinationals, financial institutions, trading companies, and governments.
In this role, you will make pricing assessments, write market analysis and breaking news, and have opportunities to travel, attend industry events, present at industry conferences, and lead webinar sessions. You will develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the industries to source original, relevant and exclusive content. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from various backgrounds, many of whom are in Argus’ other offices around the globe.
- Monitor and assess the markets to produce price assessments, market commentaries, analyses, and reports.
- Establish strong relationships with key industry members and business leaders through meetings and daily communications to gain an in-depth understanding of your market.
- Develop and maintain rapport with key contacts and liaise regularly with industry stakeholders (buyers, sellers, traders, brokers) to gain market intelligence.
- Proactively generate news leads and pitch stories, contribute copy to the relevant publication and contribute to unique content (blog posts, white papers, webinars, podcasts, etc.).
- Collaborate with colleagues on the desk and other teams to enhance and drive coverage.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts and represent Argus.
- Build your industry expertise and writing skills to provide readers with first-class market insights and analysis.

What we’re looking for in you
- · An articulate graduate with a strong degree.
- · At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in commodities journalism, with a deep understanding of renewal fuels, specifically biodiesel.
- · Experience delivering breaking news, insightful market reports, and in-depth analytical articles is a bonus.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- The global market includes the Latam (Latin American) market coverage. Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is essential.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives.
- · The ability to develop, verify and write industry-relevant news/content to deadline is preferred.
- Interest in and enthusiasm for commodities, energy markets, global business, politics, and economics.
