Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Operation:Safely operate and drive assigned trucks for the transportation of goods.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Loading and Unloading:Assist in loading and unloading goods from the truck, ensuring proper handling and stacking to prevent damage.
Verify the accuracy of orders and deliveries with the corresponding documents.
- Route Planning and Navigation:Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
Use GPS and other navigation tools to avoid traffic and delays.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes, receipts, and logs.
Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed and submitted promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance:Conduct regular inspections and basic maintenance of the truck (e.g., checking oil, tires, and lights).
Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the maintenance team.
- Customer Service:Interact professionally with customers during deliveries.
Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and report them to the supervisor if needed.
- Compliance:Comply with company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Ensure all deliveries comply with local regulations and company standards.
- Safety and Security:Follow safety protocols to ensure the security of the truck and goods.
Secure goods properly to prevent loss or damage during transit.
- Coordination:Work closely with the logistics and warehouse teams to coordinate delivery schedules.
Communicate any delays or issues encountered during deliveries to the relevant parties.
- Additional Duties:Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- License: Valid Class 4 or Class 5 driving license.
- Experience: Previous experience in driving heavy vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Singapore’s roads and traffic regulations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages can be an advantage.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle customer interactions professionally.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
