Job Objective
The Principal will promote and support the vision, mission, and direction of the school by providing day-to-day leadership. This leadership will enable the school to achieve success and deliver high-quality education for its students.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and manages the school on a day-to-day basis and is the first point of contact for all stakeholders and external agencies in matters relating to the school.
- Collaborates with management to create an environment that enables all staff and students to achieve success and reach their potential.
- Ensures regular review and updating of school policies, with staff and management involvement in the process.
- Advise and support staff in policy development and implementation.
- Ensures learning is central to strategic planning and resource management.
- Works closely with parents, carers, the community, and agencies to meet the academic, spiritual, moral, cultural, social, and emotional needs of all students.
- Meets statutory requirements for curricular programs and enabling all students to access a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum.
- Ensures the curriculum and pastoral care cater to students’ diverse experiences, interests, aptitudes, and backgrounds.
- Prioritise high-quality teaching and learning across the school and ensuring the school environment supports effective learning.
- Cultivates a culture of challenge and support where every student can succeed, engage in their learning, and meet high expectations.
- Establish a systems to monitor and enhance teaching and learning quality.
- Demonstrates and promotes high expectations and sets ambitious targets for the school community.
- Initiates and capitalises on new curriculum developments and educational initiatives.
- Develops and implements effective behavior policies to support students’ learning and maintain appropriate conduct.
- Takes a strategic role in integrating new and emerging technologies to enhance student learning experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of leadership and teaching experience in international schools.
- At least 10 years in senior leadership roles in international schools.
- Master's degree in Education and a Professional Teaching/Teaching qualification certificate (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma), valid Teacher License, or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Proficiency in innovative and modern pedagogies and assessment tools.
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to lead positively and develop staff to meet high expectations.
