About the Role
This role is dedicated to write Casualty business in Indian market, including motor, liability, and Non-Life Personal Accident. You are required to conduct comprehensive underwriting, and expertise extend to defining portfolio strategy, providing product insightful guidance, and fostering continuous improvement. Frequent travel to Mumbai office and stay 8-10 weeks during peak season (Q1) is expected.
Main tasks including:
- Carry out sound technical assessment, structure reinsurance program, make solid underwriting decision, implement new, complex, or critical underwriting measures.
- Collaborate with client managers in fulfilling client needs, provide value added services and products that can create a competitive edge, this including designing tailor-made (re)insurance products.
- Be a key expert and consulting role, identify and capture new business opportunity, execute a case from concept to result with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor risk landscape and conduct analysis to ensure that Swiss Re’s underwriting strategy is aligned with the risk environment and achieve business goals. Lead or support deep dive pricing and underwriting initiatives and projects.
- Establish and maintain of specific industry and product know-how, identify market trend and future development, represent SR as a knowledge expert in client meetings and market event.
- Provide renewal support to other markets in Asia on need basis.
- Provide coaching to junior underwriters
About you
Professional Experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in (re)insurance industry. With at least 2 years covering Indian market.
- Has actuarial designation from major institute of Actuarial Society (US, UK, India, Australia)
- Proven track record of product development and business development.
- Successful case from idea creation to concrete plan and execution lead to meaningful business impact
- Effectively using of data and tools is a must and coding capability as a plus
