Responsibilities
- Responsible for commercial operations related to the loading, discharge and transport, payment of LNG cargoes
- Proactively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure cargoes are operated in a structured manner
- Ensure all payment and calculations (issuance of invoice, PR for cargoes, shipping cost, demurrage calculation & negotiation etc) are correct and timely settled
- Ensure all operation activities are conducted in compliance with relevant HSSE and operating standards procedures to recognize out of compliance conditions and implement corrective actions
- Work closely with the traders to implement new trading strategies and maximize the value of existing strategies. Perform evaluation of contracts to secure maximum commercial value from each deal and post deal reconciliation & review
- Work closely with Shipping team on the appointment of cargo surveyors and analysis of load & discharge reports, ensure orders are clearly communicated, understood and ensure that that the business complies with client's Shipping policies
- Work closely with the Legal/Contracts, Mid and Back Office Functions, Tax, Finance and Credit teams to provide assurance on trading processes, guidelines and procedures
- Work closely with the regional offices on operational decisions and the resolution of issues
- Schedule the movement of products to the customer and co-ordination with terminals
- Maintain timely and accurate records in the relevant systems
- Develop, maintain and enhance the relationships with third parties / companies / associates, including terminals, shipping companies, surveyors and Marketing businesses
- Provide market research analytics and intelligence to Traders
- Support Traders, Business Developers and Charterers on contract reviews and deal negotiations
- Knowledge transfer among team members and participate in the training of new/junior members within the team as and when necessary
- Act in due compliance with contractual obligations and corporate procedures
- To act within the guidelines and authorities laid down by UNIPEC
- Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience in a LNG operation capacity within a global LNG business environment or in energy industry or commodity trading
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the LNG business value chain
- Excellent communication skills and working knowledge of trading systems
- Excellent teamwork skills with a preference for action, accountability and developing alternatives and solutions
- Meticulous, detailed oriented and adaptability to changing environment
- Ability to translate HQ Chinese policies and write professional business reports
- Experience working with Chinese LNG terminals and LNG cargos going into China. Experience in China market research and analysis experience.
