We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Application Support Engineer with expertise in Java, Oracle, PL/SQL, and AIX to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will provide technical support for our applications, ensuring their optimal performance, stability, and availability. This role involves troubleshooting issues, performing regular maintenance, and collaborating with development teams to enhance application functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Java-based applications.
- Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, patches, and updates.
- Manage and support Oracle databases.
- Write and optimize PL/SQL scripts for application functionalities.
- Perform database tuning and query optimization.
- Manage and support AIX operating systems.
- Perform system monitoring and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance and availability.
- Respond to incidents, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions.
- Document incidents and resolutions for future reference.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy new features and enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on issues and resolutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform after-hours support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in application support and maintenance.
- Proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle databases and PL/SQL scripting.
- Experience with AIX operating systems and system administration.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with additional programming languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Certification in Oracle, Java, or AIX administration.
