Job Summary:



The chef is responsible for managing the kitchen operations of the bar ,creating delicious and innovative dishes that enhance the bar’s menu, maintaining the highest food quality and safety standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.The ideal candidate needs to have a passion for food and strong leadership skills, and experience in a new start up kitchen environment


Key Responsibilities:


Menu Development: Design and update the menu to reflect current trends, seasonal ingredients, and customer preferences while ensuring a good balance of offerings that complement the bar’s beverage selection. Working closely with the Bar Manager to ensure cohesive pairings and promotions.

Food Preparation: Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items, ensuring consistency and high quality.

Kitchen Management: Manage all kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.

Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of food preparation, safety, and cleanliness.

Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and meet customer expectations.

Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.

Cost Control: Monitor and manage food costs, portion control, and waste to ensure profitability while maintaining quality.

Collaboration: Work closely with the bar manager and floor staff to ensure smooth operation and coordination between the kitchen and the bar floor.

Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends and continually introduce new ideas and dishes to keep the menu fresh and exciting.

Customer Feedback: Respond to customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve the dining experience.

Qualifications:


● Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a bar or restaurant setting.

● Skills: Strong culinary skills, creative flair, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

● Knowledge: In depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations and culinary techniques.

● Education: Bachelor or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality management or related fields are a plus.

● Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.

● Personal Attributes: Passionate about food, detail oriented and able to work under pressure .

● A strong desire to contribute to the success of a start-up entity.
