Job Title : Research Fellow
Job Type : One year contract
Job Location : Southwest Singapore
As a research fellow, the position holder will be in charge of setting and running a chronic disease database as primary work in an hospital. The candidate will also have an ample opportunity to pursue his/her own research and apply for fundings. In addition, administrative work related to research or general work as per directions of the reporting officer will also be needed for this position
Primary Responsibilities
· Setting up a chronic disease database and analysis.
· To approach patients to invite them to participate in ethics approved clinical research studies, if required.
· Write and review research papers, present research outcomes and develop collaborations.
· Contribute to project management and provide guidance to more junior researchers.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Secondary Responsibilities
· Develop your own portfolio of research work and projects.
· Working with Principal Investigator (PI(s)) perform research grant administrative matters such as, (not limited to):
o Supporting PIs with variation & extension requests, working with the ethics committee and submission of claims.
o Assisting with Annual progress reports, Mid-term and Final review reports.
· Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the reporting officer/HOD.
Job Requirements:
· PhD and/or Degree in Nursing / Medicine or related discipline.
· Minimum 4-5 years of experience in health services or operational research is a plus.
· Candidates with only laboratory-based research experience need not apply. Previous experience with setting up a database will be useful.
· Ability to work independently, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
· Driven and motivated, with potential to achieve research excellence.
· Ability to generate experimental results leading to high impact publications.
