Job Overview:
Overall responsibility for the CFS Finance function, continuously evaluating its effectiveness for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Business as Usual
- Manages routine Finance operations to ensure efficient processing and timely disbursements of payments.
- Ensures proper record keeping and financial accounting to meet timely submission of all internal and external financial and statutory reporting requirements.
- Responsible for year-end external audit and month end closing activities including review of Balance Sheet Schedule, Profit & Loss Statement, and Cash Forecasting and Management.
- Prepares reports for government grant and funding purposes.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, bankers, government agencies and vendors.
- Works closely with stakeholders for Procurement to ensure a smooth P2P process.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to optimize finance processes and implement solutions to drive efficiencies and advocate best practices.
- Ensures good internal controls are in place and in compliance with the corporate policies, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Reviews and updates financial processes and policies to ensure compliance and controls
- Point-of-contact for escalation of inquiries and/or issues on invoice recognition and payment procedures.
- Prepares annual budget and forecast
- Produces financial reports to the Committees and the Board and functions as a business partner to Senior Management
- Leads, motivates and develops staff in the team to deliver the KPIs
Transformation
- Working with the Strategic Planning and IT teams, leads the finance related transformation projects such as Reporting, Forecasting, Shared Services, system capabilities.
- Drives the Finance efficiency / continuous improvement initiatives, automating and innovating across the finance spectrum.
- Identifies improvements leading to increased accuracy and efficiency of the month-end and forecasting processes.
- Collaborates with the wider Business Operations team and continuously monitoring internal processes – identifying industry trends and value creation opportunities to maximize the potential of the department and build a “finance team of the future”.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance or Qualified/Certified accounting qualification with at least 8 to 10 years of post-graduation experience, ideally with an APAC regional scope.
- Experience in leading a team
- Highly motivated and versatile team player and manager, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, responsible and task oriented.
- Good logic in financial accounting and internal control
- Analytical with good problem-solving skills
