We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Procurement, who will also serve as the Deputy Head of Legal & Commercial Contracts Management. This dual role is crucial in overseeing and optimizing our procurement processes while providing strategic oversight and support in legal and commercial contract management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage the procurement team to ensure efficient sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve cost savings and quality assurance.
- Monitor procurement metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
2. Legal & Commercial Contracts Management:
- Support the Head of Legal & Commercial Contracts Management in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in all contractual matters.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes and managing risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory and compliance issues related to procurement and contracts.
3. Strategic Planning and Collaboration:
- Participate in senior management meetings to provide insights and recommendations on procurement and contractual matters.
- Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve procurement processes and optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices in procurement and contract management.
4. Leadership and Team Development:
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the procurement and legal teams.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Ensure high standards of performance, ethics, and accountability within the department.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field. MBA or JD preferred.
- Proven experience (8 years) in procurement leadership roles, with at least 3 years’ experience in legal and commercial contract management.
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, contract law, and negotiation principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contracts.
- Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) and/or contract management (e.g., CCM) is a plus.
- Experience in a similar dual-role capacity would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
