The company intends to develop Project Professional Indemnity (PI) Class as part of its offering under Financial Lines across Asia and the Middle East (GCC) regions. This is a new role, and the person will oversee be responsible for building and developing Project PI. The role would require special attention to be paid to developing and growing the Project PI. As Underwriting manager, the role involves strategy development, implementation and managing distribution partners across the region. The applicant is required to be independent, innovative, and entrepreneurial.
Key Responsibilities;
Underwriting Strategy and Growth:
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Asia and Middle East regions.
- Analyse market and pricing trends and risks to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Establish underwriting guidelines and ensure compliance with overall profitability of the portfolio.
- Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments to optimise results.
Relationship Building and Marketing:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the other departments to create and implement marketing plans tailored to target markets.
- Participate in industry events and conferences to network and promote company's expertise in underwriting.
Distribution Optimisation:
- Work closely with existing teams to leverage distribution channels effectively across the Asia and Middle East regions.
- Identify new distribution partners and opportunities to expand market reach.
- Evaluate the performance of distribution channels and make recommendations for improvement.
Support to Key Functional Areas:
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure sound financial management of underwriting operations.
- Collaborate with claims management to address complex claims and ensure timely resolution.
- Work with the reinsurance team in the company’s reinsurance arrangements to optimise reinsurance placements
- Support policy administration processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency in policy issuance and servicing.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across different functional areas to drive the success of the Project PI in the Asia and Middle East regions.
