Job Responsibility
- Performs high quality dynamic, static, SPECT and PET / CT imaging procedures to obtain the desired diagnostic patient information for the referring physician.
- Performs quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, PET / CT scanners and other related auxiliary equipment (dose calibrators, well counters,) on a daily, weekly and monthly interval depending on the instrumentation recommendations.
- Performs various radiopharmacy duties including receipt, preparation, administration and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure safety and integrity of the agents used.
- Practices safe handling of radioactive materials according to local regulations to ensure minimal radiation exposure to self and others.
- Ensures that the correct patient is being given the correct dose of tracers and the area of interest is being imaged correctly.
- Demonstrates commitment to co-workers, department and Hospital through general standards of professional conduct to facilitate the efficient and smooth operation of the department.
- Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure patient cooperation, safety and satisfaction.
- Participates in shift, on-call and rotation duties as and when required by the department.
- Participates in various teaching and/or learning opportunities in order to further his/her own personal knowledge and to assist in expanding the knowledge of others.
Job Requirement
- Candidate must have a Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent or a Degree in Medical Science, Radiology
- Candidate must be registered with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
- Any experience in the following modalities would be preferred
- SPECT/CT
- PEM
- PET/CT
