Job Scope:
- Monitor closely pre-operative patients seen in the wards and clinics on the outcomes of decisions for surgery.
- Provide information regarding patient’s diagnosis, need for intervention and possible outcomes to patients.
- Responsible for patient education.
- Responsible for financial counselling and admission procedures
- Ensure all appropriate investigations ordered are carried out before any surgical intervention.
- Ensure smooth workflow between cardiac clinic, cardiac lab, OT, CTICU, ward and other hospitals
- Inform patients’ families on patients’ progress post operation
- Assist nurses and allied health professionals in educating and facilitating the clinicians care plan
- Inform and remind patients / families on follow up appointments and post discharge medical instructions
- Develop educational materials and assist in research activities of Adult Cardiac Surgeons
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by the Head of Department
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Degree, preferably in Nursing / Allied Health / Science or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Preferably with working experience in a similar setting
- Proficient in using MS office
