Job Description
The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a Visiting Professorship in the Department of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The department is renowned for its strong foundation in teaching and research, which supports high-quality clinical care. Its primary teaching facility is the Khoo Teck Puat-National University Children's Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI) located at the National University Hospital (NUH).
The department, in collaboration with KTP-NUCMI, offers comprehensive paediatric training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to medical professionals from Singapore and the broader region. Beyond medical education, it is dedicated to advancing paediatric scientific research in areas such as cancer, genetics, immunology, metabolic diseases, cardiac health, as well as child and family population health, disease trends, health outcomes, and neurocognitive development.
The Visiting Professor will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), the Department of Paediatrics, and the Queenstown Health District team. Their primary role will involve providing insights, expertise, and mentorship for the development of a learning health network, a leadership academy, and quality improvement initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding Singapore's Health Systems:Gain familiarity with the structure and context of Singapore's health systems.
- Exploring Ongoing Programs:Observe and analyze current health initiatives in Singapore.
- Establishing a Learning Health Network:Lead the setup and co-creation of a learning health network focused on quality improvement.
- Facilitating Learning:Identify collaboration opportunities with HD@QT workstreams.
Focus on:Baseline resident needs evaluation
Hyperlocal data heat mapping
Prioritizing unmet needs
Designing and measuring interventions for chronic disease management in the community

Qualifications
The applicant should:
- Be a Professor of Paediatrics with clinical and research expertise in population health for families and children;
- Be able to guide Department of Paediatrics and Queenstown Health District to set up a learning health network and active health intelligence team
- Provide guidance in quality improvement and strengthening of health systems
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
