The Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore

Position Summary Statement:

Responsibilities include ensuring the overall co-ordination and execution of all activities in the driveway area and direction of all guest services and information requests from guests. A Doorman should foster the ideal that no guest request is too big or small to accomplish in the name of service to our guests.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all guests in the driveway area receive the highest level of professional welcome and farewell from our hotel.
  • Receive all guests at the driveway area by opening the taxi/car door and welcoming them.
  • Aid in carrying luggage out of the taxi/car and placing them in front of the entrance of the hotel.
  • Note down the number of the arriving taxi/car as well as the number and type of bags on the arrival slip.
  • Attach baggage tags around the handle of the bags.
  • Call the Bellman for assistance in carrying the bags to the bell desk area for the guest to check in.
  • To be familiar with the hotel promotion packages. F&B and Rooms if any, and be able to promote these packages clearly to guests.
  • To be familiar with the correct method of lifting, storing and releasing of luggage.
  • To be the “eyes and ears” of the hotel and report any unusual events in the hotel’s driveway to the Bell Captain, Manager on Duty, Duty Manager or Security.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and neatness in the driveway area.
  • To possess adequate knowledge of all hotel facilities and operating hours; know all hotel services and functions as well as surrounding City Streets, locations, restaurants, and major attractions and city-wide events and activities.
  • Be familiar with the hotel emergency, fire and security procedures.
  • Ensure a neat, well-groomed and professional appearance at all times as he is above all, a reflection of the hotel to both guests and passers-by.
  • Take responsibility for any follow-ups required, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure the wellbeing, safety, and security of both colleagues and guests.
  • Ensure that all information provided to guests is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Perform other duties related to the bell desk as assigned by the Bell Captain, Concierge, Chef Concierge.


Talent Profile:

  • Possess at least GCE 'O' Level Education
  • Previous experience in guest service industry as a bellman/doorman
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, either in the workplace or at college
  • Exposure to multi-cultural environment
  • Needs to be fit and healthy and able to carry luggage and parcels of up to 100lbs
  • Able to work shifts, and on weekends and public holidays
