About Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园)
Metta Preschool Punggol has been dedicated to providing early intervention since its official opening on July 31, 2010. Our Centre receives referrals from SG Enable and hospitals, with enrolment following an initial screening process. We specialize in early intervention programs for children aged two to six years from various races and religions who are diagnosed or suspected to have mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delays, and/or intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to maximize the developmental potential of these children through targeted intervention.
Children at Metta Preschool Punggol attend 3-hour sessions twice a week. Our multi-disciplinary team, consisting of teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, collaborates to create specific and measurable 1-year goals for each child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The IEP focuses on six domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.
Job Title: Psychologist
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Admission Screening: Conduct pre-admission screenings for students referred to the Centre.
- Cognitive Assessments: Administer standardized cognitive assessments and write detailed reports for enrolment into special education schools or for accommodations for students with learning challenges in mainstream primary schools.
- Behavioural Plans: Develop and implement behavioural plans for students with challenging behaviour, coordinating among key stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
- Caregiver Training: Provide training for caregivers on the developmental needs of the students.
- Additional Duties: Carry out any other duties as assigned by management, including assisting in fundraising events as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of relevant working experience.
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Psychology, specializing in Applied or Educational Psychology, from an established university.
- Professional Registration: Holding or being eligible for full registration or membership as a psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and/or other relevant psychological associations in the country of qualification is an advantage.
