Global Category Manager
SCHOTT Singapore is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Category Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies to optimize our procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost savings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance with company policies.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and execute purchasing and supply management activities in the global category/categories in his/her responsibility, also including compliance and corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Achieve purchasing targets and support the internal planning process for the category/categories under his/her responsibility
- Develop global category strategy/strategies to optimize value generation for the SCHOTT group, includes generating the required transparency e.g., on internal demand and relevant supply markets
- Ensure the strategy/strategies remain updated and is/are aligned with relevant functions and business units
- Execute global category strategy/strategies, including e.g. price and contract negotiations with
- suppliers
- Secure supply and right quality
- Report and monitor global category/categories performance (using standardized KPls)
- Support or be purchasing responsible for projects, e.g., new product launches (if being the project purchaser); ensure early involvement of purchasing
- Lead cross-functional cooperation for the global category/categories
- Ensure timely involvement of cross-BU, cross-functional Sourcing Council(s) for guidance and decision making
- Represent global category/categories in relevant forums· and meetings
- Support or lead special initiatives to optimize value generation or increase efficiency of purchasing
Job Requirements
- Min. 3 years, thereof at least 2 years within purchasing or any other relevant area (depending on category scope)
- Fluency in English, further language skills beneficial
- Strong negotiation skills
- Understanding of relevant business law e.g., for contracting , strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, ability to work in teams
