Your Job
Molex Singapore is seeking for a Machinist to join the team. You are responsible to read and understand complex drawings independently, operate an Opti-dress unit to achieve precise grinding of inserts, and ensure the fabrication of finished parts to high accuracy standards. You will coordinate with Toolroom machinists for process planning and provide 100% inspection reports for tooling.
Our Team
This role involves close collaboration with internal departments like Tool Room, Tooling Development, Stamping, Molding, Engineering, Assembly, and Maintenance, as well as external contacts such as tooling vendors, machine suppliers, and service engineers.
What You Will Do
- Fabricate tooling, inserts, jig / fixtures according and meeting drawing specifications and supports production department on tooling requirements.
- Ensure all in-house quality standards are met and spares are completed on time.
- Perform in-process inspection during all stages of fabrication per department quality standards and procedures.
- Support and prioritize urgent job requirements as and when required.
- Maintain housekeeping and adhere to safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure that the BSI 1SO14001 & 45001 applicable legal requirements related to EHS are addressed appropriately in the areas handled.
- Provide feedback of staff performance to the Toolroom superintendent, senior or supervisor.
- Ensure assigned projects are completed on time.
- Compile and consolidate data for machine utilization report and input into SAP.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- NTC 3 or NTC 2 certification.
- 3-5 years of working experience in surface and form grinding machines.
- Proficient in using profile grinding and surface grinding machines (Opti-PGK).
- Ability to read and understand complex drawings independently.
- Skilled in using all measuring instruments to an accuracy of 0.001.
What Will Put You Ahead
- NTC 3 or NTC 2 in Tool and Die Making or Precision Machining.
- 5 years of working experience in surface, form, and PG machines.
- Experience with WAIDA (Profile grinding) and Okamoto, Johan & Shipman (surface grinding) machines.
- Familiarity with design software, preferably NX software.
