Molex Singapore is seeking for a Die Design Engineer to join the team. As a Die Design Engineer, you will be assisting and supporting modification projects and the improvement of current projects. Be an active member of the new product development project team, responsible for die design and development to support the team's goals and objectives. Part of the Stamping department, assisting in various projects, assignments, and focal points of the department.
Our Team
This role involves collaboration with all levels of staff within the company, including Production Managers, Process Engineers, Quality Engineers, Planners, Buyers, Procurement, and Toolmakers. Additionally, the role requires interaction with external vendors and suppliers.
What You Will Do
- Engage in terminal design reviews and address issues during Product Design Reviews & FMEAs.
- Investigate cost-effective die design solutions, including cost estimates and schedules.
- Conduct die design reviews, FMEAs, and participate in Die Qualification Plans & Checklists.
- Liaise with outside vendors for quotations, specifications, design reviews, FMEAs, FA submissions, and technical issues.
- Design and develop dies to meet schedules, supporting new product launches, ramp-ups, and FA closure until mass production.
- Collaborate with the Tool-room and Toolmaker to resolve fabrication and debugging issues.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of dies.
- Support and improve current projects.
- Maintain and file all documents related to die design and development.
- Propose improvement plans and suggestions for the Die Design & Development group.
- Participate in departmental and company-wide focal points and projects.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Diploma in Engineering / Degree in Engineering or its equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in die debug, fabrication, and building of progressive dies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation of die design and development.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in the tool and die industry for a minimum of 3-5 years.
- Proficiency with 3D NX Unigraphics & AutoCAD.
