About the role
The Crisis Response Analyst is responsible for triage and quality assurance for Client’s Social Good programs. The Analyst will primarily operate the Crisis Response product which allows Client’s platform users to mark themselves safe in a disaster. The analyst is required to proactively monitor global events, gather and disseminate information, assess the incident based on Client's Standard Operating Procedures, and set up and monitor all Crisis Response systems. The analyst will be required to creatively operate in uncharted areas of operations. Special projects and other duties may be assigned as needed.
The operations require rotational shift work from 8:00AM to 7:00PM daily from Monday to Sunday, 2 work days followed by 2 off days.
Responsibilities
- Monitor open source platforms and analyze global events and its impact to Client’s assets
- Monitor for threats against Client platform user’s using open source tools
- Conduct damage assessments on natural and human-made disasters
- Send communication to cross-functional partners notifying them of Safety Check activations
- Create operational briefs for leadership, as requested
- Develop forecast reports on global threats, as requested
- Investigate potential malicious activity (e.g. misinformation) on Crisis Response user pages and take appropriate actions as necessary
- Work on all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong analytical, open source research, critical thinking, problem solving, time management skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports
- Ability to work in a team and individual environment by balancing multiple competing priorities
- Think through problems for logical solutions while remaining calm and professional during a fast-paced, high-stress situation
- Comfortable taking actions with only 80% of the information or less and owning the decision
- Be comfortable with viewing graphic images/videos
- Self-motivated with limited guidance
- Travel, educational, and language experience abroad is highly desired
Preferred Qualities
- Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Philosophy, or other related studies, preferably accompanied by specific regional expertise (e.g. travel, education, language skills)
- Highly recommend for meteorologists and geologists to apply
- Disaster response or other emergency management experience is preferred
- Background in disaster response is highly desired (e.g. Red Cross, FEMA, humanitarian aid)
- 2+ years’ experience with customer service background in a fast-paced environment
- White-glove customer service skills – go above and beyond for the customer
- Statistical/data analysis skill sets
- Geospatial analysis skillsets (e.g. ArcGIS)
