We are looking for a skilled R Shiny Developer on a 12 months extendable contract basis.
This is to design and develop interactive web applications using R Shiny. You will manage both UI and backend programming in JavaScript. This role involves end-to-end development from data modeling to database integration and frontend implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating dynamic, user-friendly dashboards and applications, integrating data modeling, and delivering effective solutions based on user requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Wrangling:
- Utilize R packages such as tidyverse, rlang, and purrr for efficient data manipulation and functional programming.
- Custom CSS Integration:
- Apply and modify custom CSS for Shiny applications, including adapting existing library components to meet specific design requirements.
- JavaScript Integration:
- Incorporate JavaScript to enhance interactivity within Shiny apps, including adding interactive features to components like reactable tables.
- Shiny Application Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive web applications using R Shiny.
- Implement user interfaces and features based on design specifications and user requirements.
- Ensure applications are responsive, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.
- Data Integration:
- Integrate and visualize data from various sources within Shiny applications.
- Develop and apply data models to enhance application functionality and user experience.
- Manage data pipelines and ensure data integrity and accuracy within applications.
- UI/UX Design:
- Customize and style UI components using CSS and HTML within the Shiny framework.
- Implement data visualization components and interactive elements to meet project requirements.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Documentation and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data analysts, designers, and project managers.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in R and experience with the R Shiny framework for web application development.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for customizing UI components.
- Experience with data visualization libraries and tools such as ggplot2 and plotly.
- Proficiency in R, Shiny, and related data wrangling tools.
- Experience with custom CSS and JavaScript integration in Shiny applications.
- Familiarity with data integration and manipulation using packages like dplyr and tidyr.
- Demonstrated ability to work on end-to-end development from data modeling to UI implementation.
- Experience in managing and optimizing application performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
