Job Purpose
The FAA Repair Station Training Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing training programs for personnel within the repair station to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and industry standards. They design training curricula, conduct training sessions, and assess training effectiveness to support the skill development and proficiency of repair station personnel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training Program Development
- Design and develop training programs and curricula based on FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
2. Training Delivery
- Conduct training sessions for new hires, recurrent training, and specialized training programs as required.
- Utilize various training methods and tools (e.g., classroom training, e-learning modules, simulations) to deliver effective training.
3. Assessment and Evaluation
- Assess training needs and conduct skills gap analyses for repair station personnel.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
4. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure training programs meet FAA requirements and are aligned with repair station policies and procedures.
- Maintain training records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to update training programs accordingly.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance training effectiveness and efficiency.
6. Safety and Quality Focus
- Promote safety awareness and adherence to quality standards among training participants.
- Incorporate safety and quality principles into training content and delivery.
Qualifications
1. Education
- A bachelor’s degree in aviation management, education, instructional design, or a related field is typically required.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in aviation maintenance or instructional technology are advantageous.
2. Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance or a related field, preferably in a FAA repair station.
- Prior experience in training, instructional design, or curriculum development.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and standards (e.g., FAR Part 145) related to training and personnel qualifications.

- Strong instructional design and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
