The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:


  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in defining an annual sales action plan based on research, investigation and analysis of the market trends and execute set actions accordingly.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with the preparation of the annual budget by providing statistics and forecasts of account productions.
  • Source new business within assigned market and market segment and converting business always with a view to maximize revenue for the hotels.
  • Prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads, and closing sales.
  • Follow hotel performance and short-term forecasts to find weak periods and identify customers for those periods.
  • Create excellent guest and client relationships through attention to detail, follow through with a personalized touch and empathy for customer perceptions and needs.
  • Organize familiarization trips, site inspections, hotel presentations and participate in tradeshows and showcases (local and overseas).
  • Review and analyze business pace and market trends.
  • Conduct market research on competitors and latest industry news to identify business development opportunities.
  • Support and participate in all client engagement plans.
  • Review, recommend and implement local sales efforts to support business needs.
  • Review accounts business production and implement appropriate plans to enhance share of wallet.
  • Directs the day-to-day activities, plans, organizes, develops, and communicates strategies and goals for the team, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies for the respective industry sectors.
  • Lead the Sales team in achievement of hotel's key performance indicators that include but not limited to hotel's revenue contribution, profitability, guest satisfaction, team members' satisfaction and loyalty contribution.
  • Set individual sales targets for the team and monitor progress.
  • Lead team towards achievement of business objectives.
  • Lead and participate in sales and marketing activities including sales calls, sales trips, new accounts and groups business acquisitions and conversions.
  • Continuously improve through feedback, challenging processes, monitoring the hotel sales delivery against targets, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change.
  • Participate in interviewing, recruiting, hiring, and training qualified candidates.
  • Assist in the performance review of the team and make sure that evaluations are done in line with the company guidelines.
  • Identify training needs, develop improvement plan, coaching, and discipline of staff accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and direction to staff by identifying developmental needs, coaching, and mentoring.
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Management.
