General Manager, HR/Admin & IT cum Legal Manager

Mitsubishi Chemical Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Responsible for the managing and taking care of the General Affairs (including Investor Relations and IT) and Legal Affairs for the Company and some Group companies, affiliates of the Group.


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage matters relating to HR, administration and IT of Company such as budgeting and cost management, labor, office and IT management and addressing labor issues.
  • Assist top management in the management of the APAC region and company, and also respond to governmental requests and deal with affiliated organizations within and outside the Group.
  • Improving relations with Japanese companies/Japanese community in the APAC region.
  • Assist the APAC Legal Head in the management of the APAC Legal Team in areas such as budgeting and cost management and interfacing with the members in legal and other divisions of MCG and other group companies. Be involved in APAC projects as a member of APAC legal.
  • Work on global projects involving HQ and other group companies on matters such as data privacy, governance, etc.
  • Formulation of policies and procedures relating General and Legal Affairs of the companies.
  • For Legal affairs, involve in Contract consultations, legal consultations, and support for project response from each company.
  • Sharing of information on any changes to laws and rules & regulations.
  • Licensing, related to external party permission.
  • Effectively support public relations activities of the Group in Asia Pacific region.
  • Fostering good relationship, maintaining a good communication and a transparent relationship between the company and the investors so that the company can prosper in the long run.
  • Integrating finance, communication, marketing and securities law compliance to enable the most effective two-way communication between a company, the financial community, and other constituencies, which ultimately contributes to a company's securities achieving fair valuation.
  • Planning of yearly business plan with budget, considering of all areas of expenses in act of business operation with deep analysis on strategy to keep lean operation.
  • Report and communicate with supervisors and HQ (Japan). Possess strong understanding on the internal workflow and communication channel of HQ (Japan) in order to take over division within short period of time.
  • Maintenance, related to asset maintenance.
  • Report, related to organizing the reports of asset and routine expenses for meeting purposes.
  • Work with Company Secretariat team to identify improvements to overall operations.
  • Follow up with Company Secretariat team to ensure that any improvements to operations have been implemented.
  • Ensure good office Infrastructure is properly setup.
  • Review Corporate IT initiatives and ensure proper maintenance/deployment of IT infrastructure.
  • Handle Information security governance by implementing information security level monitoring in cooperation with internal audit team.
  • Other duties as and when assigned by MD.


Skills and Experience:

  • Degree with mimimum 10 years related experience
  • High level of communication skills in English
  • Experience in the area of Admin or business planning
  • Excellent communication, coordination and negotiation skill
  • Possess strong understanding on the internal workflow and communication channel of HQ (Japan) to enhance the operational efficiency of APAC and Company function by collaborating with the various function units in HQ
  • First hand knowledge of Japanese culture, Japanese language and the organization of the Group to serve as a liaison between APAC and group companies
