Release Manager

This is a 2-year contract to start. At the end it is extendable and even convertible. There are a few perks to be shared over the phone call!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Release Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and managing release cycles, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful software releases. The Release Manager will identify and manage risks, maintain communication with stakeholders, oversee version control, and ensure quality standards are met. This position will work very closely with the automation team to streamline and optimize release processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Release Management:Plan and schedule release cycles.
   Coordinate with development, testing, and deployment teams to ensure smooth releases.
   
2. Risk Management:Identify and manage risks affecting release scope, quality, and schedules.
   
3. Communication:Keep stakeholders informed about release plans and updates.
   Coordinate with IT representatives from affected sub-systems.
   
4. Version Control:Oversee software version control to maintain integrity and traceability of releases.
   
5. Release Notes:Create and maintain detailed release planning notes for each cycle.
   
6. Quality Assurance:Coordinate testing efforts and ensure that quality gates are met before releases.
   Verify and validate the quality of software through rigorous testing procedures.
   
7. Monitoring and Incident Management:Monitor systems post-production release for any issues or incidents.
   Collaborate with Technical and Business Analyst teams to document Root Cause Analysis.
   Coordinate with the support team to address any problems promptly.
   
8. Bug Fixes and Hotfixes:Oversee the resolution of critical bugs or issues impacting users.
   Prioritize and deploy hotfixes as necessary to ensure minimal disruption.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in release management or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles.
• Excellent risk management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in version control systems and release management tools.
• Exceptional communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Certification in ITIL or similar frameworks.
