Who we’re looking for


This is an exciting opportunity for a business-minded and technology-savvy individual to join a forward-thinking team within a market-leading asset management firm.


Team Overview


The role sits within Schroders’ Operations Innovation team. The team is responsible for Schroders’ digital workforce – configuration, implementation and optimisation.


The group engage and collaborate with other business teams within Schroders such as compliance and risk, business consulting, data and insights, and Global Technology to identify, prioritise and automate business processes. Once automated, the group is responsible for the ongoing support and optimisation of the digital workforce.


Role Overview


The Automation Analyst works closely with other group members and the Business to automate processes and deliver innovative technological solutions end-to-end. This Operations Innovation resource should ideally have strong configuration experience with relevant Operations Innovation toolsets, such as Low Code/ No Code tools (Xceptor, OutSystems, PowerPlatforms, etc.) and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to:

  • Gather and quickly understand user requirements to put forward solutions that can reduce manual overhead, mitigate risk and reduce costs for business teams
  • Design, build, test and implement technological solutions for business teams using industry leading toolsets
  • Engage effectively with Business SMEs to understand and document the business requirements
  • Engage effectively with multiple stakeholders across Technology and Business Subject Matter Experts
  • Manage configuration project deliverables through the automation lifecycle
  • Analyse and solve complex business problems with speed and efficiency and develop technology solutions to these problems
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure configuration priorities are aligned to overall strategy and business need
  • Create Process Design and Solution Design Documents
  • Collaborate with the Operations Innovation Automation Lead on process automation opportunity identification
  • Assist with the support and enhancement of existing solutions
  • Investigate defects, suggest solutions to prevent recurrence and rectify bug-fixes

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
  • Blue Prism Developer qualification
  • Xceptor practitioner certification
  • Experience in OutSystems development
  • Experience in Microsoft Access
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in an application development role within the Asset/ Wealth Management Operations
  • Experience in programming, including scripting/coding, e.g. .NET (C#) and .NET framework application development, Python, VBS, JavaScript, SQL
  • Able to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Experience with process analysis, design, and implementation; business and technical requirements; problem-solving; and system(s) testing, including UAT and bug fixes
  • Understand the importance of tracking, managing and documenting all configuration issues to ensure overall project cohesion and appropriate risk management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Professional experience in programming, including scripting/coding, e.g. .NET (C#) and .NET framework application development, JS, VBS, JavaScript, HTML, SQL
  • Basic understanding of Lean and Agile principles, frameworks and tools, and the ability to apply these principles in RPA solution design
  • Familiarity with process improvement and transformation programmes of work
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking; carry out objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to inform decision making
