We are looking for an associate to join our corporate and commercial disputes team. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to assist in a broad range of general commercial litigation disputes involving subject matters such as fraud, complex derivative products, regulatory breaches, defamation, shareholder disputes, transport disputes and employment. You will also have the opportunity to assist in non-contentious matters such as advising on commercial contracts and employment-related matters.
This role will suit an ambitious and enthusiastic lawyer with good communication skills who would enjoy the challenge of an exciting and growing practice area.
Main responsibilities
- Managing and assisting with commercial disputes through various dispute resolution mechanisms including the Singapore Court, arbitration and mediation
- Handling all aspects of litigation matters both independently and with supervision, including court procedures
Attributes / skills required
- Experience: 2 to 3 years PQE in commercial litigation, SG-qualified, preferably trained with a reputable mid or large Singaporean law firm
- Court/Advocacy experience
- Able to work independently and have good legal drafting, presentation and analytical skills
- Ability to acquire, consolidate and apply fundamental and up-to-date knowledge of the law
- Attention to detail and good practical case handling skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver quality work under pressure and within deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels
- Strong passion in disputes resolution and ability to manage files independently
