Job Description: Senior Application Support Engineer
As a Senior Application Support Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of our software applications. You will be pivotal in leading technical teams, strategizing solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies. Your expertise will be vital in setting standards for application support and driving continuous improvement in our processes and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Application Support Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Drive the strategic planning and execution of application support initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with third-party partners and internal cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and business stakeholders, to align support strategies with organizational goals.
- Oversee complex incident management processes, ensuring effective resolution and communication across all levels of the organization.
- Lead in-depth technical analyses and performance optimization of software applications, identifying opportunities for system enhancements.
- Design and implement advanced diagnostic tools and processes to aid in the efficient resolution of complex technical issues.
- Conduct and facilitate comprehensive post-incident reviews, developing strategies to prevent future occurrences and improve system robustness.
- Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, including process guides, best practices, and performance metrics.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance support capabilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software application support, with proven leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Advanced knowledge of application support best practices and ITIL frameworks.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale technical projects.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Node.js) and eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated ability in handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
