About this role:
Foreign Exchange Operations is responsible for managing the end-to-end trade lifecycle of all foreign exchange spot, forward, swap, non-deliverable forward, window forward, option and money market transactions. The team's primary responsibility is to manage the FX transactional flow for the Macro and Multi- Currency Treasury groups. The team supports FX activity originated by Wells Fargo Bank NA, Wells Fargo Bank London, Wells Fargo Securities LLC as well as Wells Fargo Securities International Limited.
In this role, you will:
- Act as the local APAC coordinator of all FX Operations functions covering APAC hours; working closely with the global FX operations teams located in the US (Charlotte) and India to support all activity during APAC hours
- Serve as the local FX Operations point of contact for the APAC Sales, Trading and middle Office teams
- Assist with client queries and issues during APAC hours; coordinating communications between internal/external stakeholders to provide updates or resolve any issues. Internal stakeholders include trading, sales, technology, middle office and other operations teams. External stakeholders include clients, counterparts, third party vendors and potentially nostro banks, which are staffed during APAC hours
- Work with global operations team to process the daily work, such as trade confirmations, discrepancy resolution, operational queue monitoring, handling exception processing and responding to inquiries from trading, sales and the clients. Also assist with the hand off to the EMEA shift and from the NY shift
- Produce and maintain FX Operations Metrics/KRI’s/KPI’s necessary for business governance (e.g. Cancel/Correct metrics), with a focus on APAC.
- Assist in and coordinate any change initiatives impacting the APAC business, and identifying and solving for inefficiencies leveraging global stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, with experience in FX Operations.
- In depth knowledge of spot, forwards, swaps, NDFs, options, window forwards, and CLS, and NDF clearing.
- Understand confirmation and settlement; being able to understand the risks associated with unconfirmed trades, failed settlements, funding and the end to end life cycle of a trade
- A proven ability to work fast paced environment. Can manage multiple initiatives during the course of a day, and will not become flustered when issues arise
- A record of improving processing by either increasing STP, reducing errors or control improvement with the objective to minimize operational risk
- Needs to be a self-starter, who is motivated, and driven
- There will be exposure to senior individuals in both sales, trading, technology and operations, as a result, exceptional communication skills, but written and verbal are needed
