Job Summary: As the Manager of Volunteer and Youth Development Manager, you will oversee the MTFA Volunteer & Youth Development Department, ensuring the empowerment of both community service and the professional growth of our scholars. Your primary responsibility is to supervise and enhance the initiatives together with the executive. You will oversee the execution of strategies that connect passionate individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities and foster the development of young leaders, aligning these efforts with MTFA's overarching goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Oversight of Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement:
- Oversee the recruitment strategies, ensuring a diverse and effective approach to volunteer sourcing.
- Supervise the onboarding and training processes, guaranteeing that volunteers are well-equipped for their roles.
- Monitor the coordination and support provided to volunteers, ensuring effective assignment, schedule management, and performance assessments.
- Lead the efforts in volunteer communication and engagement, maintaining motivation and addressing concerns.
- Oversee the maintenance of volunteer records and the generation of analytical reports for strategic improvements.
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards and evaluate the impact of volunteer activities on MTFA's objectives.
Leadership in Scholar Development:
- Guide the Executive in setting and supporting professional goals for scholars.
- Oversee the implementation of training programs, workshops, and mentorship connections.
- Manage the sharing of resources and tracking of scholar progress, evaluating the effectiveness of development initiatives.
- Facilitate the integration of volunteer experiences for scholars, enhancing skill development in alignment with MTFA's mission.
- Direct the assessment and reporting of scholar progress, utilizing data to continuously refine development programs.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and implement innovative strategies to enhance programs for both volunteers and scholars.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Community Engagement and Development or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in volunteer management, youth development, or a related area.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers and scholars.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
