XIG is a joint venture between Digital Bridge and Columbia Capital, two private equity firms with decades of investing in internet infrastructure.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GIS System Architect to lead the development and enhancement of our GIS solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geospatial technologies, system architecture, and project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex GIS projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural design and development of GIS systems and servers, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements, and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and support of GIS infrastructure.
- Create and maintain GIS databases and environments
- Integrate GIS applications with other enterprise systems and data sources.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the GIS team.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of GIS applications and systems.
- Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and trends, and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS system architecture and design.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud-based GIS solutions and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
