The Cafe Supervisor oversees both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hospitality industry, strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Front of House (FOH):
- Supervise and lead FOH staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing registers.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for customers, including dining areas and restrooms.
- Monitor inventory levels of FOH supplies and place orders as needed.
Back of House (BOH):
- Supervise and support BOH staff in food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to cafe recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including managing dishwashing and equipment cleaning.
- Monitor inventory levels of BOH supplies and place orders as needed.
- Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and equipment checks, reporting any issues to the Cafe Manager/Owner.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Owner to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching as necessary.
- Assist with planning and executing special events and promotions.
- Handle any other duties as assigned by the Owner to ensure the smooth operation of the cafe.
