This is a full-time position, subject to a probationary period, and will start as soon as possible.
We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking driver to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position should have several years’ driving experience, well versed in the roads of Singapore and its Landmarks and preferably a sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance etc. The driver will be responsible for a variety of duties as outlined below.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
· Transportation of employees/guests of the Embassy ensuring their safety at all times.
· Keeping an accurate driver’s logbook with daily updates
· Responsible for the upkeep of the Embassy’s vehicle in clean and serviceable condition
· Performs minor preventive maintenance and reporting to the Supervising Officer (SO) of any defects and repairs required in order to keep vehicles in proper road condition and ensuring that repairs are performed.
· Office related messenger duties, pick up/drop off services, purchase of office material, running office errands
· Assisting with general administrative and support services at the Embassy & Diplomat’s Residence as required.
· Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the SO.
CANDIDATE PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS
· Candidate should be a Singapore Citizen / Permanent Resident aged between 30 - 45 years old, preferably male.
· Singapore issued driver’s licence – Classes; 2 / 2A & 3 / 3A / 4.
· Successful completion of secondary school or high school education is (GCSE N / O Levels / Vocational Training) required.
· Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience, local knowledge.
· Knowledge of the Protocols and etiquettes in dealing with Diplomats and official guests (receiving guests/modern style/personal hygiene/good conversations)
· Basic Computer skills and good navigation skills (GPS / Email)
· Good communication and organization skills
· Good command of English, both oral and written
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Honesty, punctuality and discretion
· Ability to work in a team, flexibility
The duration of the employment is limited to one year with the possibility of extension. Occupants of this position may be required to work out-of-hours (OT), including on weekends or public holidays, with little or no notice. The salary is fixed on a local scheme basis, normal working time is 40hrs/week, flexible working hours.
