Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Associate for “Molecular Profiling of Circulating Extracellular Vesicles to Identify Mediators of Cancer-related Ischemic Stroke (MICRO-CRISIS)” in the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Program, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis, in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.


Purpose of the post

The Research Associate (RA) will work closely with the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the study. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as recruitment, experiments pertaining to extracellular vesicular identification of biomolecular repertoire to cancer-related stroke, and bioinformatic analysis, as well as other duties, where deemed necessary.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Associate will liaise with the relevant personnel in hospital to smooth the process of recruitment and experimental data collection and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

  1. Oversee the general management of the project;
  2. Undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, isolation of extracellular vesicles and downstream processing, bioinformatic analysis;
  3. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  4. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. Have should hold at least a Master’s degree in Biology or related disciplines;
  2. be able to work independently and in a team, possess a self-driven and curious nature, with analytical abilities;
  3. have experiences in the areas of extracellular vesicles and stroke research.
