Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for identification, reporting and escalation of emerging operational risk through execution of the Group’s operational risk management framework tools.
- Effective management of operational risk issues; including timely reporting, root cause analysis, identification of effective risk mitigants and tracking of issues and actions to resolution and closure.
- Perform periodic risk assessments and control validation on Ops processes to ensure compliance with the Group’s policies, standards / guidelines and that risk exposures are within risk appetite.
- Drive execution of the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programme with Ops units to ensure effective identification and assessment of key risks and controls.
- Conduct process deep-dives and landscape reviews; including risk reviews for new / changed processes arising from new product launches, transfer of activities or process automation / system changes.
- Support the execution of operational risk initiatives under the Risk & Governance remit across a broad range of topics including (but not limited to) Production Issues, Data Analytics, Key Risk Indicator (KRI) Metrics, GLAO / MJE and 3rd-Party / Outsourcing Risk through collaboration with various stakeholders (i.e. Operations, Data Chapter, Finance, Group / Regional Risk).
- Promote risk awareness and compliance with Group’s policies, standards and guidelines by conducting periodic operational risk trainings and workshops.
- Act as liaison party with other control functions such as Group Risk / Compliance / Finance on risk advisory matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Business or Banking and Finance will be preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Operational Risk / Controls within Financial Services, with good knowledge of banking products and processes.
- Familiar with Wealth Management Operations will be an added advantage.
- Possess good control mindset and the ability to understand a broad range of operational issues.
- Meticulous and analytical with affinity towards use of data towards problem-solving.
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills; with ability to work with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
