Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible and ensure timely, accurate month-end closing, financial reporting including intercompany reconciliation and performance analysis for Japan entities with TMK structure and Australia Trust entities.
• Review and analyse monthly management accounts prepared by outsource accounting firm for Japan entities.
• Prepare monthly financial and management reports, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliation while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and local accounting standards for Australia Trust entities.
• Review and analyse Hotel operator’s monthly management accounts and prepare amalgamated accounts for hotel management entities in Australia.
• Preparation of withholding tax, quarterly GST/VAT submission and reconciliation with accuracy and ensure proper treatment of all tax matters in compliance with legislation.
• Liaise with outsources accounting firm, auditors, tax agents, company secretary or other parties including regulatory bodies on accounting or financing matters.
• Handles TMK’s regulatory compliance activities including but not limited to annual audits, ensuring adherence to relevant industry regulations and internal policies.
• Cash management which includes maintenance of bank balance and cash flow management to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements / filing due dates for all entities in-charge.
• Prepare monthly cash flow projections, involve in annual budgeting, and reforecast exercise.
• Handle project budget and cash flow projection for hotel refurbishment.
• Preparation loan covenant compliance calculation and reporting to the banks.
• Guide the subordinates and review work done by Accounts Executive.
• Ensuring SOP has been followed and checked.
• Assist in new processes and accounting related system implementation when required.
• Assist in setup new entity for asset and business acquisitions.
• Handles ad hoc assignments as and when required.
Requirements:
• Degree in Accounting, ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience & supervisory skills in Real Estate and hotel management companies and have exposure to the jurisdiction of Australia and Japan is a Must
• Familiar with hotel industry practices
• Experience in Japan (Real estate Structure = TMK structure) is a MUST
• Good communications skills both verbal and written in English & Japanese (If have to liaise with Japanese counterparts, not a must)
• Eye for detail and highly meticulous
• Must have experience to lead a small team.
• Must have good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Ms Excel.
• Familiar with accounting software like Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
• Good understanding in inter-company transactions
• Able to meet with a strict reporting deadline.
• Good team player, self-discipline, meticulous, attentive, committed, and able to work independently.
• Able to start immediately or within a short notice.
