The School of InfoComm Technology is looking for part-time lecturer to teach modules in the domain of Information Technology.
Being a lecturer involves fulfilling a challenging yet meaningful role. Not only must he / she have knowledge and work experience, but he / she must be passionate about working with young people, nurturing them and shaping their personality. You will have the opportunity to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses and participate in consulting and other applied research projects. Administrative tasks related to education and school / institutional and strategic initiatives are also an important part of the responsibilities.
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate wit and innovation, initiatives and good communication skills. Training is provided for domain areas that candidates are unfamiliar with.
The candidate will be assigned to teach PET/CET classes in the area that he / she is a subject matter expert in.
Kindly note that this is an hourly-paid position.
Responsibilities
- Create teaching and assessment materials, conduct lessons and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students (Diploma in Information Technology, Diploma in Full-Stack Development, and other relevant short courses
- Develop and maintain new/existing teaching curriculum. This includes regular review of existing curriculum and make recommendations on areas of improvements that would enhance students’ learning, performance and employability
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments of IT and emerging trends
- Handle administrative work relating to teaching
Basic Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in related domain
- Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both youths and adult learners
- Proficient in at least one programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical work experience in implementing solutions in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software engineering, enterprise computing, and full-stack development
- Relevant certifications will have added advantage, e.g. AWS, SCRUM
- Experience in designing curriculum, developing materials and delivering classes
