The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 3-month contract at the Office of Education Research (OER) with a possibility of extension for one to two years.
Project Title: Meta-synthesis of the Science Underlying Character & Citizenship Education (CCE)
Project Introduction: The specific objectives of this project are as follows:
Objective 1: To review and synthesize relevant theories/processes on foundational concepts in CCE.
Objective 2: To assistant in the development, piloting and analysis of research instruments informed by relevant research.
Objective 3: To coordinate and manage the collection of data
Requirements
- Bachler’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Philosophy, Education)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct literature search and synthesis
- Ability to write reports, publications and presentation materials
- Ability to present research findings through various platforms
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work cooperatively in teams
- Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistics is a bonus and use of SPSS
- Candidate with a Masters degree in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience may be considered for a Research Associate position.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and synthesise relevant theories/processes related to CCE.
- Assist in the development of research instruments related to CCE;
- Manage and coordinate the collection of data;
- Disseminate the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed publications of international standing;
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Principle Investigator and the Co-Principle Investigators
