Position Overview:
The Planning Engineer will play a critical role in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure the successful and timely completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant construction experience, particularly in the construction of Viaduct, and possess a recognized civil engineering degree recognized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparation of master programme schedule and plan during tender and execution stage
- Prepare any other micro schedules required for project execution
- Update programme bases on actual site progress and the deliverables committed
- Ensure that the execution on site complies with the approved and good construction sequences and procedures
- Assist Project Manager in preparing reports.
- Assist in tender preparations including programme, write-up proposals and making presentations to clients.
- Plan, monitor and liaise with sub-con/ supplier on shop drawings, production and delivery
- Monitor and liaise with Project Manager on project progress and advise project team on interfaces, clashes, constraints, delay and risks
- Identify and report potential time risk and advise on the mitigation method
- Identify and report variations in contract requirements
- Apply critical path method techniques
- Apply time-motion study method and advise on the area for improvement
- Liaise with consultants and clients to prepare monthly report on the performance of the project
- Assist Project Manager in preparation of progress claims and sub con payment certification
- Work closely with CTD in analysing and evaluation sub-contractors planning and reporting submissions
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the immediate Management.
Qualifications:
1. A recognized degree in Civil Engineering by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant construction experience, with a preference for experience in Viaduct.
3. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
