Job Overview:
Our client, an expanding oil refinery, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chartering Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-8 years of experience in the crude oil business, with extensive knowledge of VLCC (Very Large Crude Carriers) operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective transportation of crude oil to the refinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chartering Vessels: Secure and manage contracts for VLCC carriers to transport crude oil to and from the refinery. Negotiate terms and conditions to ensure favorable rates and conditions.
- Market Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze the freight market to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Utilize this information to make informed chartering decisions.
- Contract Management: Oversee the creation, execution, and compliance of charter party agreements. Ensure all contractual obligations are met and resolve any disputes that arise.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to the transportation of crude oil, including geopolitical risks, weather conditions, and operational hazards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including logistics, trading, and refinery operations, to ensure alignment and coordination of crude oil shipments.
- Relationship Building: Maintain and develop strong relationships with shipping companies, brokers, and other key stakeholders in the maritime industry.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in chartering within the crude oil business, with a strong focus on VLCC carriers.
