Job Responsibilities
Product Reformulation & Performance Testing
- Perform the reformulation of paint products based on the original disclosure formulation supplied by Japan Technical Headquarter and confirm that properties of the reformulated paints meet the specifications.
- Manage the evaluation & acceptance check of new ACM reformulation & memo formulation setup, prior to release for production use.
- Carry out performance evaluation of equivalent alternative raw material used for paint formulation
- Provide support in the paint performance evaluation of various products in terms of quality improvement, cost down, confirmation test & Bridge projects.
Others
- Provide technical support to Sales and prepare colour panels / paint samples for customer verification.
- Assist in the troubleshooting and analysis of non-conforming products to identify the causes and recommend/ determine solutions to rectify the non-conformity.
- Upkeep the cleanliness/tidiness of laboratory premises and maintain the laboratory testing equipment
- Adhere to the laboratory safety guidelines when performing various laboratory testing.
Qualifications/ Experience Required
- Degree/Diploma in Material Science or Chemistry
- Preferably with minimum 1 year of technical experience in the Marine and Industrial paints-making sector
- Possess basic understanding of chemical terms & mechanism in technical reformulation and testing methodology of paint products.
