Job overview:
Reporting to the Regional CFO and supporting the Regional Accountant, this is a Junior Accountant role that involves implementing all financial aspects of financial accounting, business planning, and budgeting processes for Asian countries. You will need to work with respective stakeholders and ensure compliance with all relevant corporate, statutory, and fiscal obligations in a timely manner according to each country's requirements. The accountant will also ensure the timely provision of all financial reports.
Job description:
Work closely with counterparts and out-source accountant in respective countries ensuring reporting are done timely which includes below duties:
- Support and assist the Regional Accountant pertaining to accountings matters
- Month End Closing / forecast (including closing of books, prepare and review financial reports with the Regional CFO / respective managing director(s)
- Quarterly Closing (same as monthly plus intercompany reconciliation)
- Year-End Closing (same as monthly plus additional schedule preparation and review and, preparation of Consol pack for onward submission to controlling for review)
- Liaising with auditors in ensuring issues are resolved timely and issuance of audit report according to the deadline set by HQ.
- Plan, implement, monitor and improve processes
- Assist Regional CFO in obtaining relevant financial data when required by HQ
Assist the Regional CFO in financial and controlling function in the respective countries
- Assist the Regional CFO in financial and controlling function in the respective countries
- Close monitoring of OE / Sale / profitability of sites and bring to the attention of CFO to take the appropriate initiative
Assist Regional CFO and Managing Directors in all Legal Matters
- All Board and annual meetings (including notices, presentation and min. numbers of meeting).
- All other legal matters (Eg. Board Resolution and extract as required)
- Understand, highlight and act accordingly to changes in laws or regulations that might affect countries overseeing
Others:
- Assist in all aspects of the business that might require accountant’s support
Job Requirements:
Education
- Advance Diploma / Bachelor degree holder in accounting and finance
Experience
- Entry level Junior opening
- Accounts/Finance Executive are welcome to apply
- You may apply even if you have no regional accounts experience but is keen to explore and seek for career progression
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting and finance
- No ACCA certification is required for this role
- Candidate with audit background but interested to make a career switch to become a Junior Accountant is welcome to apply
Requirements

- Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
- Knowledge of local GAAP, local taxation rules and ability to do tax computations
- Strong conceptual and analytical abilities with a good eye for details
- Knowledge of auditing practices and principles would be advantageous.
