About the role:
▪ Conduct stream bioassessment on various stream sites using benthic macroinvertebrates, periphyton, phytoplankton, zooplankton, fish fauna, and aquatic macrophytes
▪ Conduct rapid stream biomonitoring using visual assessment protocols to describe the habitat quality and ecological integrity of the river systems, waterways, and ephemeral streams within the site
▪ Responsible for taxonomic identification of collected aquatic invertebrate samples
▪ Assist in the conduct of terrestrial vegetation survey and species profiling to describe forest community structure among plantation sites, residual forests, and secondary growth patches
▪ Assist in the flora assessment survey across established vegetation monitoring plots
▪ Prepare SWOT analysis to provide guidance on the overall masterplan of the proposed project
▪ Prepare the technical write-ups for the Freshwater Ecology and Terrestrial Vegetation sub-modules
▪ Deliver project scopes on time and within budget, track project expenses, and monitor the man-hours of all environmental scientists working on the project.
About you:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master of Science in Biology.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in biodiversity management and freshwater ecology management from a Consultancy or MNC environment.
- Must be skilled in conducting environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and environmental studies such as environmental monitoring, environmental baseline studies, initial environmental examinations (IEEs), and rapid environmental site assessments (RESAs).
- Has experience in conducting feasibility studies, master plans, and providing technical assistance to various projects.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to engage clients and act as a technical expert in freshwater ecology for various industries.
