The role of Artisan include maintaining and repairing all woodwork and fittings including ceilings. He/She will manufacture furniture and related items required by the Hotel. He/She will undertake all painting and varnishing work throughout the Hotel including sign painting and spray painting, varnishing and polishing.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Repair all wooden equipment, furniture and related fittings throughout all function rooms, banquet stores and banquet office, guestrooms and shopping centre.
· Repair and make good tables, chairs, sofas, stools, trolleys, lazy susans, mirrors, round/long banquet tables, etc.
· Repair or renew rails, pelmets, racks, cupboards and closets, etc.
· Make or repair partitions, doors, windows, signboards, bulletin boards, boxes and cupboards, tables and chairs.
· Construct cupboards, shelves and other furniture together with fittings as required by the hotel.
· Repair or change door stoppers, closets, hooks, hinges, locks, rubber linings, curtain rails, etc.
· Assist other technicians to perform jobs as required by the management.
· Repair or renew ceiling for and throughout the hotel, function rooms and guestrooms.
· Repair or renew wallpaper for the entire hotel.
· Making of decorations, models for functions, festivals, weddings and pastry displays.
· Hanging of curtains and banners for all functions, in public areas and guestrooms and offices.
· Repair and also re-upholster furniture as required within the hotel.
· Repair or fix all types of partitions in function rooms and function areas.
· Varnish paint all surfaces as required within the scope of the hotel.
· To fix hooks, locks, brackets, clotheslines, towel rack, TV stands and doors.
· Paint guestrooms, services areas, ceilings and other areas inside and outside of the hotel and public areas.
· Similarly varnish all woodwork including tables, chairs, shelves, cupboards, etc.
· Undertakes sign painting on notice boards, bulletin boards, car parks and other areas of the hotel internally and externally.
· Clean and pain all steel work including water storage and service tanks and also pressure spray painting.
· Perform duties during safety and fire operation drills as and when the need arises.
· Carry out any assignments as directed by the Management.
· Respond to any emergency situations in the hotel such as urgent repairs, fire, etc during or after duty hours. Failure to respond without any relevant reasons will be severely dealt with.
Job Requirement:
· At least 2 years of working in a role of a similar capacity.
· Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical and electrical systems, including air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
· A tradesman certificate, ITE or Diploma in engineering related courses
