As a key member of our commercial department, you will be responsible for facilitating the negotiation and execution of contracts related to the chartering and sale/purchase of vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Chartering Operations: Assist in negotiating charter party agreements, fixing vessels, and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, including charter rates, vessel availability, and industry developments, to provide strategic insights to internal stakeholders.
- Sales and Marketing: Support sales and marketing efforts by identifying potential clients, preparing proposals, and participating in business development activities.
- Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating terms and conditions of contracts with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for our company while meeting the needs of all parties involved.
- Documentation and Compliance: Preparation and review of relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Studies, or related field.
- Experience in commercial roles within the maritime industry, preferably in shipbroking or chartering is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of commercial principles and practices in shipping, including charter parties, freight rates, and vessel operations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
