Are you passionate about making a difference in the mental health field? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Psychologist.
Position: Assistant Psychologist
Work Schedule: Part-time (two days a week)
Remuneration: $15 per hour; minimum of 10 hours per week (potential for 15 hours on some weeks)
Working Days: Wednesday (9am - 6pm) and Saturday (9am - 2pm) You may be required to come in on other weekdays based on clinic needs.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Reception work: Client liaison, triaging, and registration.
2. Marketing tasks: Writing blogs, creating clinical content for website and social media.
3. Participation in team meetings and events.
Additional Clinical Exposure and Experience:
1. Engagement in our CARE program.
2. Attendance and note-taking in team supervision on Tuesdays.
3. Involvement in professional development sessions (90 minutes monthly).
4. Participation in external supervision groups (ACT for adolescents, Eating Disorders & Schema therapy - 6 hours monthly).
5. Shadowing school visits, supporting assessments and report writing.
6. Conducting individual therapy sessions under close clinical psychologist supervision.
Career Progression Path:
After six months, potential evaluation for advancement to the role of Counsellor based on skill development, client outcomes, and retention. Subsequent focus on counseling responsibilities, with reduced admin and marketing duties.
Requirements:
- Diploma in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience, such as internships or work experience in a clinical or research setting, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of psychological principles and therapeutic techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and clients' confidentiality
