This position involves performing a variety of tasks related to the cleaning and care of garments and other textiles in a non-household setting, such as a commercial laundry or dry cleaning facility.
- Sorting and Handling:Sort garments and textiles by type, color, fabric, and cleaning requirements.
Inspect items for stains, tears, or other damage before processing.
Label and tag items as necessary to prevent mix-ups and ensure accurate processing.
- Cleaning and Treatment:Apply appropriate cleaning methods and solutions based on garment type and condition.
- Treat stains and spots using specialized techniques and products.
- Ensure that garments are cleaned thoroughly and in accordance with quality standards.
- Inspect garments after cleaning for any remaining stains, damage, or necessary repairs.
- Fold, hang, or package cleaned items according to specified procedures.
- Iron, press, or steam garments as needed to ensure proper presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
