In-House Counsel (Banking)
Our client, a well-established bank is seeking a dedicated Legal Specialist to join their dynamic team to support their banking business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on corporate and private banking matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable banking laws and regulations, including the Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, and Financial Advisers Act.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal issues and mitigate risks.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies and policies.
- Handle regulatory inquiries and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal matters and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years PQE, with a focus on corporate and private banking is preferred
- Familiarity with international banking regulations and cross-border transactions.
- Sound working knowledge of banking laws and regulations, including the Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, and Financial Advisers Act.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
