Position: Scientist/Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist
Germinal Biotech is a local biotech start-up company that specializes in the development of antibody-related therapeutics and technology. We are hiring scientists to build a bright future together. This position will offer the candidate the opportunity to work with multiple technical platforms in antibody therapeutics, such as phage display, yeast display, protein expression and protein engineering. Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, plan and/or execute experimental plans
2. Troubleshoot technical problems
3. Develop and optimize protocols
4. Train junior scientists for the positions of senior/principal scientist
5. Actively involved in scientific discussion and provide constructive suggestions
6. Summarize and present data in project meetings
7. Lab management including inventory, equipment and procurement
Qualifications:
Working experience:
Fresh graduates at different levels are welcome to apply but the applicant should have at least 1 year hands-on laboratory experience in academia or industry in at least one of the items under the "Technical skills" section below.
Technical skills:
The candidate should be familiar with or be an expert of at least one of areas in 1-3 below:
1. DNA manipulation techniques like PCR and molecular cloning
2. Protein related techniques like SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, protein purification
3. Cell culture related techniques like aseptic handling of cell culture, cell passaging, cell freezing, transfection, viral transduction
4. Experiences with antibody discovery and protein engineering in general will be a strong plus
5. Experiences with animal work will be a strong plus
